Maryland Medical Cannabis FAQ
A legal patient may travel to any location in the state of Maryland. Maryland cannot authorize you to travel to other states or countries. Possession of cannabis is against federal law. Most states do not recognize legal medical cannabis. Many medical cannabis states will not recognize the validity of out-of-state medical cannabis authorizations.
NO. You must be certified in Maryland by a Maryland approved medical provider to legally purchase medical marijuana in the state.
You are not required to carry a patient ID card, but they are available as an option. A patient ID card will be available for a fee of $50.00 to the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission.
A Caregiver provides a service for any patient (even those under 18) who cannot or does not wish to go to a dispensary to purchase their medical marijuana. Caregivers are only appointed by patients, must be 21 years or older, and can be a family member.
